Food crisis worsens

In Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya, thousands are facing a worsening food crisis. The World Food Program recently distributed rations only to refugees in categories 1 and 2—leaving countless others, including children, elders, pregnant women, and those with disabilities, without any food assistance.

This crisis directly impacts DES (Development and Empowerment of Society), a refugee-led organization where every staff member and volunteer is a refugee. These individuals are the heart of our programs—educators, gardeners, mentors, and caregivers—now forced to choose between serving their community or finding food for their own families.

At our food forest compound, water shortages are causing crops to wilt, threatening one of the few sustainable food sources in Kakuma.

Please give generously to the DES Kakuma Famine Relief Fund today.
