Water, Source of Life / Maji, chanzo cha uzima

For the past month, the Kakuma refugee camp has been experiencing a severe water shortage, with no reliable or official system in place for proper distribution. Under the scorching heat, many refugees have resorted to breaking water pipes outside their areas as an alternative means to access water for drinking, bathing, and other daily needs. Some refugees walk as far as five to six kilometers to reach these water points. However, this practice remains illegal, and those caught fetching water through such means are subjected to legal action. Help us help our communities by donating the the DES Kakuma Famine Relief Fund.
