Creativity Feeds the Soul During Kakuma Famine—Help Us Continue This Urgent Work / Wakati mgao wa chakula umekatwa, ubunifu hulisha roho -kutusaidia kuendelea

Spread the love

Even during the Kakuma famine, there’s something magical about watching children create with their hands, whether it’s painting, gluing, or building with nature.

But beyond the fun and mess, arts and crafts play a big role in child development
This month, we celebrate handmade crafts and flower-inspired art, where imagination blooms, and learning grows.

Craft of the Month: Nature & Flower Art

As part of our Kakuma famine relief initiative this month, children explored art made with real flowers and natural materials. From pressed flower bookmarks to handprint bouquets, they created beautiful pieces by combining creativity and nature.

What kids learn from this

Sensory awareness: Feeling different textures like petals and leaves.
Observation skills: Noticing colors, shapes, and patterns in nature.
Environmental appreciation: Learning to respect and enjoy the outdoors.
Self-expression:Turning natural items into personal artwork.

Why Handmade Matters

When children create with their own hands, they aren’t just making art, they’re building important life skills.

Helping Every Child Learn at Their Own Pace.

Remedial classes are specially designed lessons that help children who may be struggling with certain subjects or skills.

These classes provide extra support, personalized attention, and step-by-step guidance to help students catch up, and even move ahead. They’re not a punishment or a sign of failure. In fact, they’re a smart, compassionate way to meet children where they are and help them grow confidently.

How Remedial Classes Help Children.

Remedial classes are more than just extra lessons. They offer real, lasting benefits that support a child’s learning journey.

Fills Learning Gaps
Children may miss foundational skills in reading, math, writing, or language. Remedial classes revisit those basics and ensure understanding.
